Modern & You

Meet Kara Gurski

I am so excited to introduce myself as the newest Montessori preschool teacher in south Regina.

It’s no secret to those who know me that I love children. My family would tell you that I spent hours playing school and being a little mother to my dolls throughout my own childhood. This passion led me to pursue a career in child education. I have over ten years of professional experience supporting children in educational, community, and residential settings.

I began my career as an educational assistant with the Regina Public School system, ensuring that students’ diverse needs for education were met and respected. I continued to work with children as a respite provider, celebrating their individuality and helping them to develop social, emotional, and behavioral skills. For the past four years, I’ve owned and operated a day home for infants, toddlers, and school-aged children.

My Background

I studied Women and Gendered Studies at the University of Regina before achieving my Montessori Diploma and Early Childhood Education Certificate. Parents can rest assured that the Montessori model will be upheld at Modern Megaw Montessori. In addition to my formal education, I’ve been mentored by Cindy Megaw, founder and original owner and operator of Megaw Montessori.
